PHANTOM WALKER 2021

At first glance, WALKER is an enigmatic sculpture waiting to start moving. However, it is also a free-standing structure supporting two PHANTOM loudspeakers from French high-end audio company Devialet.WALKER was created for Temple Dongjingyuan in Beijing in order to create an immersive sound in an ancient wooden pagoda. Due to the heritage constraints, the Phantoms could not be fixed to any pillar. Temple Dongjingyuan wanted the 8 speakers to be placed at different heights at each corner of a square in order to create a surround sound highlighting the impeccable acoustics of this ancient hall. It also had to be visually pleasing for its discerning visitors. WALKER is available in bronze, brass, and black finishes for double or single PHANTOM installation.
